Sheer brilliance I tell ya.
I made these super easy DIY garden markers with an upcycle and some sharpies. Also, I used a pair of scissors. Seriously. That is it.
You may, like me, happen to have a disdain for the vinyl/plastic horizontal blinds that are a pain in the @$$ to clean, and never work exactly the way you want them to. You may also, like me, happen to have a house full of them anyway.
Well go grab the one you hate the most, pull it down, grab the previously mentioned scissors and sharpies- and give yourself two minutes.

SUPER EASY DIY GARDEN MARKERS TUTORIAL
It’s not really much of a tutorial – there’s not much to them, they are too easy!
MATERIALS
- Plastic/vinyl horizontal blind
- Scissors
- Sharpies ( get the super duper weatherproof ones if you can find them)
DIRECTIONS
- Cut the strings from the blinds so that the slats come out
- Cut the slats to desired lengths
- Write on them with Sharpies
Too easy right?
WEATHERPROOF GARDEN MARKERS
Regular Sharpies or other permanent markers are pretty resistant but might not stand up to an entire season of rain and sunshine so you may want to consider a clear coat of nail polish or a sealant of some kind OR I hear you can get Heavy Duty waterproof Sharpies. Lemme know if you find any.
TRY THESE GARDEN MARKERS TOO
If you had, say a little collection of wine corks,(no judging here!) you will probably love these Wine Cork Garden Markers as well. Again with the super easy and the upcycle potential, these are not only charming – they are super useful and practical, cause that’s how we roll.
