Since you’ve been looking for the perfect handmade gift for the little ones in your life, I know you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this free crochet pattern!

Cuffed Neck Warmer Pattern

Materials

-7.0 mm crochet hook

-Worsted weight yarn (2 strands), or chunky yarn

-1 button

Directions

Pattern (click to download free pdf. version) is written for a toddler size. Numbers in brackets are for child size. Additional chains can be added for any size.

Chain 40 (50).

Row 1: in 3rd chain from hook, dc. Dc in each ch. turn.

Row 2-10: ch 3 (counts and first dc here and throughout pattern). Dc in each dc.

Row 11: sc around entire neck warmer. Fasten off and sew in ends.

Fold top row(s) down. Attach button to hold the folded piece down on one end.

Voila! You have a cute neck warmer for a little one.

Crochet Bath Pouf for Mother’s Day

Once again we are working with Ashley from Fehrly Crafty Creations – in order to make some lovely gifts for Mother’s Day!

Plus, I really want to learn how to crochet…I have mastered knitting, but crochet is one of things that I have not been able to wrap my head around.  But I will do it.  And if I can do it, you can do it!

Seasoned Crocheters (is that a word?) and Learning Crocheters ( I am pretty sure that is not a word.) alike can all tackle this project together.  And for any of the experts out there joining in… feel free to jump in with your comments and helpful hints.  It is you who we are looking to hear from.

How to Participate in this Event

Its super easy to join in.  We are all about letting everybody play… So here’s what you have to do:

  1. Visit the link above to get the pattern (leave a friendly comment for Lauren too if you can – I am sure she would appreciate it)
  2. Get your materials together: cotton yarn (50 gm ball should do the trick), I hook (5.5 mm) scissors, darning needle, tasty beverage

As I mentioned, the very lovely and talented Ashley of Fehrly Crafty Creations is with us all the way!  She is the crochet guru who is going to help us out when (notice I didn’t say if) we get stuck.  She will have helpful tutorials, including pictures and videos to guide us along.  All will be made available here, on our Facebook page, and on Ashley’s page too.  She really wants to teach us how to crochet – and I am ready to start!

Wavy Wash Cloth

Hi, I’m Ashley and I’ve been knitting and crocheting for years. Recently I’ve started sharing my love of all things crafty with people. I’ve been asked so much if I give lessons, so here is my first crochet lesson. I hope you enjoy! Please send a picture of the finished product, I’d love to see!

This pattern is for a crochet wash cloth.  The waves in the pattern really stand out when done it two colours

Materials Needed

5.0 mm crochet hook

Darning needle

Worsted weight cotton yarn – 50 g

Scissors

Stitches Used

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

sts – stitches

The Pattern

Ch 31.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, *hdc in each of the next 3 sts, dc in each of the next 3 sts, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, sc in each of the next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * until last 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, ch 1, turn. 

Row 2: *hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * until last 6 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, ch 1, turn 

Row 3: dc in next 3 sts, *hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * until last 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, ch 1, turn. 

Row 4: *hdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * until last 6 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts, ch 1, turn. 

Repeat rows 1-4 twice more, for a total of 12 rows, or until desired length. 

Work 1 round of sc around the outside, working 3sc in each corner. Fasten off and weave in ends. 

If you are feeling adventurous, or just want to show off the wave pattern more, change colours on rows 1 and 3.
